Green Loop Eco Makers Market

April and June 2022

We are delighted to be curating a new eco market as part of the Green Loop project on the Fylde Coast.

Are you a maker, artist or designer interested in the environment and based in the Northwest? Are you an avid upcycler? Do you source sustainable materials to create your work?

If so, then apply here to find out about an opportunity to participate in the new market at Fairhaven Lake at Lytham St Annes taking place this April and June.

Event information

Makers are invited to apply to take part in a brand new market event showcasing environmentally friendly and sustainable products. The market will take place on Saturday 30th April and Saturday 25th June 2022. It is part of a Green Loop project led by Fylde Borough Council and partners with support from Arts Council England and Hopeful and Glorious have been invited to curate 2 makers markets showcasing sustainable, green and eco creative products.

The outdoor market will be located next to Fairhaven Lake in a series of gazebos that will adorn the lakeside. Each participating maker will have a covered stall area to display and sell their work. Stalls will be situated in gazebos (provided) and the newly restored Water-sports Centre.

The cost for a single stall area (approximately 6ft x 2ft) is £25 per day. A limited number of double size stalls will be available at a cost of £40 per day. Tables, chairs and display equipment must be provided by the maker.

If you’re not sure if this is for you, have a look at the list below for some of the environmentally friendly approaches that we are looking for. It’s not a complete list but just to offer some ideas. We understand that being eco-friendly is a journey and takes one step at a time. We are not expecting makers to meet all the list below, we are just asking for makers to identify with one of these steps or have other eco actions that are part of your creative practice.

  • Re-use / upcycle products to make crafts / design. Grow, source or find materials from sustainable / local sources
  • Make things by hand or with renewable energy
  • Use recycled /re-used/ compostable packaging
  • Avoid single-use items Use safe inks, dyes and binding agents that aren’t toxic
  • Use products that are kind to wildlife and nature Committed to lowering the carbon footprint

As this is a market to promote green practice we are especially keen to hear from makers within a 50 mile radius of Lytham St Annes. This is a market to promote products made by the makers who apply. Artists may apply together to run a jointly run a stall.
